Our Wedding Day!!!

Jordan and I got married in the St. George temple exactly six months ago today!

I haven't had the opportunity to blog about it yet, so what better time than now?!

Our wedding day was one of the most important days of our lives.

It was a terrific chapter in our story about how

a boy...

and a girl...

who met on a blind date...

had all sorts of fun together...

fell in love over a short summer...

and found a way to be together forever by getting married in the temple.


It was a truly magnificent fairy tale of a day...

First, we got sealed for time and all eternity in the St. George temple. We were able to be sealed in the same room where every generation of Jordan's family has been sealed since it was built. That beautiful event is something I will never forget, as it blesses me everyday and will continue to throughout the eternities. It was truly a sacred event.

Then, we were welcomed outside by the bright sun and bright faces of our guests as husband and wife for the first time...

We were pretty excited about it ;) ....

We were then guided around the temple for a quick photo session with our happy guests...

As always, Jordan was such a gentleman...even while handeling my 18+ layer dress...

I just love that dress and all of the other lovely details that went along with the day....

Our wonderful family and friends could barely fit on the stairs....

We're so glad so many were in favor of our matrimony... ;)

Jordan and I love kids, and we got to see the cutest ones that day...

Jordan's side of the family...he does have 76 cousins on one side, you know!

Jordan's immediate family....(Taylor and Bryce weren't able to come as Taylor was serving our country in Afghanistan and Bryce was serving his mission in California. As of last week, Taylor is now safely home!)

Some of the guests from my side... I was so grateful to see family and friends travel so far for the event...

They are perfectly crazy, and I love them!

I am so grateful for the event that took place just six months ago. It's hard to imagine that it has been six months. In some ways it seems like just yesterday. While in others, it seems like 6 months, two continents, a different language and a whole hemisphere away! However you look at it, I am so happy to be sealed to my eternal companion and lifelong partner in adventure. We have been able to see a lot of amazing things so far, and I can't imagine what sort of adventures will unfold for us in the future. I do know that wherever we are and whatever we are doing, the Lord has and will continue to bless us. After all, what better blessing could one have than being in love and having an eternal family?

I can't think of a single one.

Our Wedding Day Continued...

After our beautiful wedding ceremony in the St. George Temple, our fairy tale of a day continued with a wonderful wedding luncheon at the Bell Tower...

It was a great time spent with all who attended the wedding. It included wonderful food....

wonderful toasts from family and friends...

and some particularly awesome toasts from my brothers...I think Jon's, all about how we should always keep our marriage "hot" and let our problems run off like "snot" was the crowd favorite.
Seeing Nate cry a little at the luncheon wasn't bad either... I love my boys!

After the luncheon, we had some time to rest a little and prepare for the reception later that night...there were so many wonderful helping hands.

I enjoyed getting ready in both the Temple bridal room and the Bell Tower bridal room...Unfortunately, pictures can't be taken inside the temple, but here are some fun ones from the girly bridal suite in the Bell Tower...

Thanks again to my fabulous friend, Lindsay, who made my dream 'do a reality....

and to my amazing Mom, bridesmaides and sister-in-laws for helping me with all of my bridal needs...from fastening 200 pearls...

to fluffing waaay too many layers to count...

they were amazing. Thank-you.

I think I got pretty dang lucky!

Then, we were able to have a quick pre-reception photo session with our wedding day photographer and long time friend, Kaitlyn, of SimplyKaits Photography. It was her first wedding and we just loved our day of results!

My friend from Utah e-mailed me and said she saw our familiar faces in Brigham Young University's Bridal Guide Magazine...we were so excited to hear that and be able to get see one all the way down in Brazil!

The first picture below was one featured, along with a couple of others you can see in the slideshow on the sidebar to the right. The first pictures in the slideshow were from our "Groomal" shoot with Jimmy Bishop of Gideon Photography the night before the wedding day, while all of the others were captured by Kaity on the big day. We are so happy with all of the captured memories.

The Reception was everything I could have wished for...it took place in such a beautiful setting (I don't think we could have built our own reception center that would have suited my tastes more)...I loved the tables and the beautiful floral arrangements made by my mom and her floral designer friends...yummy food (you can't ever have too much chocolate, right?!)...amazing people to help us celebrate...and an abundance of ambiance to make the entire evening wonderfully romantic.

Jordan's sweet cousin, Sondra, made our yummy and pretty cake. It was made with strawberry, lemon poppyseed and pumpkin chocolate chip layers. She even made the BEST white chocolate cheesecake for us...but it never made it to the wedding. With the help of my family, we scarfed it down the night before...Heaven on Earth!

Did I mention the details....I just love details...

This was part of the gift table. My Mom and I found this great iron manikin that my Dad cut a hole into to use as a card holder. The veil was from my mom's wedding!

Every table had an arrangement, candles, a picture of us and these awesome little note cards where guests wrote words of advice for our new adventures in marriage, funny stories, or honeymoon advice...they were pretty entertaining to say the least!

This was our 3 White Dresses table. In our church, the girls get the opportunity to wear white dresses for the sacred events that take place in our lives. They include our blessing dress at birth, baptism dress at 8, and our wedding dress when we get married! I was pretty excited to get to wear the third dress!

I was so lucky to have my adoreable nieces and nephews in the wedding party...

My two beautiful nieces, Madelyn and Aubrey...

And my four little blue-eyed mini-men, Joshual, Andrew, Carson and Cole...

The evening was full of fun events such as cutting our cake...

and "nicely" feeding it to each other...this was one of Jordan's two requests for the wedding. He was so great about letting me do my thing for so many other areas of the wedding, I figured I could bare it and wait to smash cake in his face some other day...

We had our romantic first dance...

Jordan danced with his sweet Mom...

And I got to have the traditional Daddy-Daughter dance with my Dad to "King of the World"...

I loved this tender moment...

The rest of the evening was filled with dancing, eating, singing and visiting with some of the most wonderful people in the world!

Kara and Schyler can really cut a rug...

and as always, Jordan was quite a hit with the younger ladies... ;)

My Dad entertained us all with a rousing rendition of "Room Service"... he gave us great advice for our honeymoon in the form of a barbershop song...what a Dad!

it was pretty dang funny...and it was great advice!One of the last events took the place of the traditional bouquet and garter tosses. We wanted something a little different that honored all of the couples that have inspired us with their own exemplarary families and relationships throughout the years. We had all of the married couples in the room get up and dance. Couples were asked to leave the dance floor according to how long they've been married, starting with one day (us) and ending with the longest married couple. It was so much fun, and my good friends, Al and June Harris, took the prize! They have been a wonderful example of eternal marriage, along with all of the other lovely couples on the dance floor!

It was so much fun to have all of my bridesmaids their with me...

they are such beautiful girls...

and a joy to be around!

And then, there were the boys...

they were pretty stylin' themselves, as usual....

and their are always such fun benefits of being the only girl...I just love all of the men in my life!

The entire wedding party got together for some pictures at the end of the night...

Poor Jordan had to wait until about 10:30 to leave the reception center...for some reason, he was pretty antsy to get out of there...

So, after a quick change and a few last goodbyes, we were sent off with flower "ribbon dancers"...

to enjoy our honeymoon and the rest of our Adventures in Love...
